What is the Uezu family?
the Uesu family(Japanese accent)school (e.g. of ikebana)It is an old family that has been in Kumejima for generations and has a history dating back to the Ryukyu Kingdom period.
During the Ryukyu Kingdom period, it played an important role as an official merchant and was in charge of transactions with the royal government and nobles.
It is one of the most representative families of Ryukyuan culture and an important part of the cultural heritage of Okinawa Prefecture.
How to play at Uezuke
It is a well-known tourist attraction on Kume Island, with magnificent houses and gardens open to the public.
The building is believed to have been built around 1700, and visitors can experience Ryukyuan culture while viewing the building as it was then.
It is one of the sightseeing spots where you can learn about the history and culture of Kumejima, so be sure to visit when you come to Kumejima!
