館内ではクメジマボタルの生態発見や歴史についてのパネル展示を見ることができます。

クメジマボタルは1993年に発見された久米島固有種で、沖縄県の記念物にも指定されています。

地元の小学生が参加する「久米島ホタレンジャー」の認定式もこの施設で毎年行われていますよ！
